Singer promotes Lao music and culture among foreigners

Mr Sophana, the well-known singer whose track “Yakpenloukkheui” has garnered more than a hundred million views, has asked his fans and the public to promote Lao songs and music among foreigners.
He posted a message on his Facebook page about promoting Lao songs, music and culture, and also talked about his inspiration for creating songs and music to introduce and promote Laos among people abroad.
He said he wanted to introduce Lao songs to foreigners so that more people learn about the country and its music. He added that he tried to listen to songs done in many different styles before creating his own songs to provide entertainment to his fans.
“I love Lao music, and then I started making music that has better beats. I also encouraged my Lao fans to listen to Lao music more,” Mr Sophana said.
Even though he tried to develop his music further, some people looked down on it and thought it would be impossible for him to do so, he said.
His songs, especially “Yakpenloukkheui” and “Phormae-ai Tharmhar”, attracted many viewers and went viral on social media both inside and outside Laos. Many people enjoyed his music and provided appreciative feedback.
“If everyone can believe and trust in themselves, and if they love the thing they truly like, success will come to them one day and be a source of income for them and their families,” he said.
“Everyone has different abilities and talents. It’s not only about creating songs and music, but people can enjoy the jobs they have and things they love without creating a negative impact on society,” he added.
Mr Sophana urged people not to look down on others or to waste time in telling others that they were not doing anything positive. People should say positive things and try to create the best things for Lao society, he said.
