Miss Grand International Laos shares experiences of contest in Indonesia

Miss Grand Laos 2022 Phoutsavanh Vongkhamxao recently shared her experiences of the competition, both in Laos and Indonesia, and the way she was able to spread the message about Laos and its culture to an international audience.

She described the competition on the Miss Grand Laos Facebook page on Wednesday after appearing in the Miss Grand Final in Indonesia, assisted by the National Director of the Miss Grand Laos 2022 competition, Mr Saykeo Sidavong.
Ms Phoutsavanh, 20, said she greatly appreciated the chance to represent Laos at the competition and to promote Laos and its culture. Even though she was not among the 20 finalists, she won the hearts of Lao fans as well as people in other countries, who were very supportive.
She did her best to let people know about the beautiful country of Laos and its colourful traditions while taking to the stage.
She thanked everyone for their support and voting for her and encouraged the contestants in next year’s Miss Grand Laos to have confidence and dare to show their abilities and let their true character shine through.
Ms Phoutsavanh said she would help to train next year’s contestants using the experiences she had gained from this year’s event, both in Laos and in Indonesia.
She is now launching an appeal for donations to people in Xieng Khuang province, to help them through the cold winter that lies ahead.

She will return to Laos on October 30 at 8.30pm at Wattay International Airport and urges her supporters to welcome her and her team of assistants.
She thanked Lao Airlines for giving her a return ticket to Indonesia as well as paying for tickets for costume designers Billy, Vannaly and Thavet.
Mr Saykeo said Lao people were always very supportive of contestants in beauty pageants and thanked everyone who voted in the Miss Grand Laos contest this year.
Mr Saykeo said next year’s Miss Grand Laos organisers will again select a young woman to represent Laos and display her knowledge and abilities on the international stage.
Miss Grand Laos 2023 organisers will hold a press conference on November 26 to announce the event and encourage applicants to register their interest.
