Bangladeshi student sings 120 national anthems

Mr Priungshu Roy Chowdhury, a Bangladeshi student, is currently promoting his ability to sing the national anthems of 120 countries, including the Lao national anthem.
He said in an interview to Vientiane Times  that he spent eight months learning all the anthems amid the lockdown for the Covid-19 pandemic. “My dream came true during the lockdown when the coronavirus prevailed everywhere. The time was 2021 and our government had closed all educational institutions because of the pandemic.”
He added, “All the students were passing their time sitting at home. But I tried to use that time differently. I started to learn the national anthems of different countries in their native languages.”
Within eight months, Mr Roy Chowdhury learnt the anthems of 120 countries. “Actually, I got this idea from cricketers. During international cricket matches, cricketers sing their own country’s national anthem,” he said.
“This activity inspired me to learn the l anthems of various countries. My main goal was to showcase the good relations between my country, Bangladesh, and other nations. In this way, I also want to show respect to all the nations,” he said.
Mr Roy Chowdhury is 15 years old and a student of Grade 10. From his childhood, he has thought about doing exceptional work.
He believes his achievement of learning the anthems of different countries will inspire everyone to do something exceptional. He said, “The Guinness World Records is optional, but I am happy that I did something new and created a milestone. My parents and all of my friends and relatives are happy for me.”
