Lao participants attend a three-day virtual seminar from July 11-13.

Leading Chinese vocational school launches classes in Laos

Shenzhen Polytechnic, a world-class vocational college, and the National University of Laos ran a seminar starting on July 11 titled “The Development of Network Security, Smart City and Internet of Things Technology”.
The seminar was organised by the Representative Office of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China (Chongqing) and the Laos-China Education and Training Promotion Association.
The first phase of the seminar was a three-day study, taught by the world-class vocational college Shenzhen Polytechnic, with a strong faculty and rich course content that is in line with key points and highly relevant to today’s circumstances.
The seminar course is considered to be fundamental for communication technology, industry, and personal information. From the beginning of the project, it caused a sensation and students enthusiastically signed up, reaching the upper limit of the number of participants.
The students benefited greatly from their learning. The classroom atmosphere was positive and active, the teacher and students asked questions, answered, and interacted in multiple languages, and students also took the initiative to give testimonials at the end of the class.
The leaders of the two schools are very satisfied and believe that this training will also create a solid foundation for future scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries in ICT.
Since the detailed exchanges between the Representative Office of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) in China and the Shenzhen Polytechnic in May this year, this training is the first batch of demonstration projects landed by both sides, and will push international cooperation in vocational education in Laos to new heights.
It is believed that this move will actively promote vocational colleges and universities in other provinces and cities in China to join the ranks of international education cooperation between China and Laos and the school will, as always, wholeheartedly provide national platforms and professional services related to international education.
Founded in 1993, Shenzhen Polytechnic was one of the earliest institutions in China to independently hold higher vocational and technical education.
Since its establishment, the staff and students of Shenzhen Polytechnic have worked hard to start businesses and forge ahead, constantly innovating education and teaching concepts, school-running systems and mechanisms and talent training models.
This has created a number of firsts in China’s higher vocational education, and the polytechnic has taken the lead in building world-class vocational colleges with Chinese characteristics.
The National University of Laos is the earliest and largest institution of higher learning in Laos, and has long-term cooperation with different models of cooperation with major universities, including some vocational schools and famous educational institutions in China.
The regular exchange of international students, curriculum output, academic qualification certification and joint education projects between the two countries are basically promoted by the leading organisations of the school.
At present, students’ academic qualifications and degree certificates of the National University of Laos are the only ones recognised by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China among all Lao universities.
